Community greenspace

Grow

Our aim is to open up local allotment spaces to residents, who would not normally have access to them, so they can enjoy the many their many benefits. It is well documented that just an hour in an allotment can boost both physical and mental health. From the benefits of fresh air, physical activity and a calm space to the knowledge gained from growing your own food and interacting with other members of the community.

Our aims

  • To open up and rejuvenate allotment spaces normally closed to the general public.
  • Reduce loneliness and isolation, creating community cohesion, by inviting people across the community
  • Providing relief from poor housing by offering garden spaces.
  • Creating positive spaces and workshops to improve mental health
  • Involve local volunteers
  • Provide skills training and workshops on subjects such as growing fruits and vegetables, wood work, healthy eating and making a positive home.
  • Promote healthy eating opportunities

Our aim is to not only feed the community by producing our own organic produce but to provide a place of sanctuary and refuge if and or when anyone within the community may need it.

Cultivating the land, learning about where food comes from, and how it's grown really do soothe the mind. Not only is the allotment a great form of exercise, but it's also a natural remedy to improve our mental health and well-being.
