We strive to support our beneficiaries both practically and emotionally, addressing their needs as a whole person.
Many of the people we support are at a very vulnerable time in their lives. So as well as providing physical goods and services, it is important to consider their overall wellbeing. Hearts and Helpers has developed, and we now provide opportunities for those struggling with poverty and insecure housing, to boost their mental health and wellbeing.
These services include:
We are committed to delivering the services our beneficiaries want and need. Our wellbeing activities are shaped by their input, empowering them to express their interests and even lead sessions (or parts of them,) themselves. This approach enhances confidence and enriches the overall experience for everyone involved, fostering peer-to-peer learning and stronger bonds within the community.
During summer we provided different workshops aimed at boosting wellbeing. Attendees learnt to meditate outside with nature in guided sessions, reducing anxiety, improving sleep, and cultivating happiness. Our session host Mark has experience of homelessness and was able to use this experience to empathise and connect with people taking part.
